Dandy is your neighborhood handyman, on subscription — and taking care of homes means being trusted with information about them and the people who live there. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It's part of our Terms of Service, and we've tried to keep it as readable as everything else we make.
1.Who we are
Dandy Home Services, LLC ("Dandy," "we," "us") operates hidandy.com, the Dandy mobile app, and the in-home handyman services described on our site. We're based in Atlanta, Georgia. For anything privacy-related, email bill@hidandy.com.
2.Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code or street address when you join a waitlist, submit an inquiry, book a walkthrough, or become a member.
- Home and task information — your to-do list, notes, and any photos or videos you share of things that need attention (a dripping faucet, a sticky door), plus details your Dandyman records to serve your home well (like filter sizes or where the water shutoff is).
- Messages — what you send us through forms, email, text, or the app.
- Payment details — collected and processed by our payment processor. Dandy does not store your full card number.
3.Information collected automatically
When you use our site or app we collect standard device and usage data (browser type, pages viewed, approximate location from IP, referral source) through cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. This helps us understand what's working and reach neighbors who might want a Dandyman of their own.
4.Information from other services
When you book a time through our scheduling provider (Calendly), submit a form routed through our automation provider (Zapier), or pay through our payment processor, those services share the relevant details back with us — for example, your chosen appointment time or confirmation that a payment went through.
5.How we use your information
- To provide the service: scheduling visits, preparing parts and supplies for your list, matching your home with its dedicated Dandyman, and processing payments.
- To communicate with you about drops, bookings, visits, and account matters.
- To send marketing (like news about your neighborhood opening) — always with a way to opt out.
- To improve the service, keep it secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
6.How we share it
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Our team — your Dandyman and Dandy staff see the information needed to care for your home. All Dandymen are background-checked, full-time W-2 employees.
- Service providers — payment processing, scheduling (Calendly), form and workflow automation (Zapier), email delivery, and analytics (Google, Meta), each only for the services they perform for us.
- Legal and safety — if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Dandy, our members, or our team.
- A future transaction — if Dandy is ever part of a merger or acquisition, information may transfer with the business; this policy would continue to apply until updated.
7.Texts and email
By joining the waitlist or membership you agree to receive service-related emails (and texts, if you opt in) about drops, scheduling, and visits. Marketing messages always include a way to opt out — reply STOP to any text, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Message and data rates may apply.
8.Cookies and analytics choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. To limit analytics and ad tracking specifically: Google offers an Analytics opt-out, and Meta's ad preferences let you manage how the Meta Pixel is used for ads. The site works fine with cookies limited — you may just see less relevant ads elsewhere.
9.How long we keep information
We keep your information while you have an account or an active waitlist spot, and for as long afterward as we reasonably need it — to keep records of work performed on your home, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. When it's no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
10.Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, and we limit home-access details to the people who need them to do the work. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
11.Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop marketing communications, by emailing bill@hidandy.com — we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we honor valid requests regardless of which state you're writing from.
12.Children
Our services are for homeowners and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our membership is for people 18 and over. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13.Changes to this policy
As Dandy grows, this policy may evolve. If we make material changes, we'll notify you (for example, by email or a notice on the site) at least 14 days before they take effect — the same promise we make in our Terms.
